Lightscapes
The concept of “available light” in photography speaks to finding the light in an environment and using it to create drama and emotion within the image. By utilizing transparent surfaces as a foundation for her drawings and paintings (plexiglass, repurposed and melted glass, and light boxes), Greenshields-Ziman is able to invoke a sense of serenity and otherworldliness. Light, being an active collaborator and medium, will come into play with the utilization of high-contrast spotlights used in the installation of her work.
